Portugal managed to get 32,7 million euros under the Horizon Europe program for projects related to climate, energy and mobility, since it began in 2021, announced today the National Innovation Agency (ANI). In a statement sent to the Lusa agency, ANI explains that the amount achieved represents "about 2.1%" of available funding, totaling 300 million euros, for this topic. According to ANI, in the last round of results, 21 Portuguese entities managed to raise "12.5 million euros" for 11 projects.
One of the projects that will be developed is the "Hyfuelup", a technology considered innovative for the production of renewable natural gas from waste, and this project is coordinated by the Collaborative Laboratory Bioref, with an overall investment of 10.3 million euros. This project, in an international consortium of 11 entities, aims to develop a technology to convert waste into biofuel 100% renewable for fleets of heavy goods vehicles.
